The new Kate Havnevik album update - 22/10/05 Kate's album Melankton (not a confirmed title yet) is in its final stages of production in London. Kate has recently been in Los Angeles where she's been mixing some of the album's tracks with producer / remixer Carmen Rizzo in his Hollywood Boulevard studio. The album will contain 12 songs that Kate has been recording over the last months in London, Bratislava, Oslo, Reykjavik and Los Angeles. Unlike Me, the first track to be ready has already been airplayed on KCRW and INDIE FM in Los Angeles. For the album Kate has drafted in a whole bunch of super cool collaborators that she handpicked for specific roles on the album's production.
Travel In Time in The O.C. TV series - 20/10/05 Kate Havnevik's and Carmen Rizzo's track Travel In Time, featured on Carmen's newly relased album has been signed up to feature in one of The O.C. episodes to be screened November 17th.

Kate Havnevik on tour with Röyksopp in Germany - 01/10/05 Kate will be joining the Norwegian elcetronica duo Röyksopp for the German leg of their 'The Understanding" tour. She'll be fronting the band as a vocalist on some of their songs including Kate / Röyksopp co-write "Only This Moment" and "Circuit Breaker" as well as other hits from The Understanding and Melody AM.
Kate Havnevik live on Indie FM 103.1 Los Angeles - 30/09/05 Presenters Sat Bisla and Mike Savage of A&R Worldwide at Indie FM's Passport Approved have invited Kate to be their guest on their program in the morning of Saturday the 8th of October. Kate and Carmen Rizzo's Travel in Time a big hit at KCRW - 29/09/05 The single from Carmen Rizzo's newly released album "The Lost Art of the Idle Moment", Travel In Time, written by Kate Havnevik and Carmen, has been recieving a lot of airtime on LA's no. 1 radio station KCRW. Both Nick Harcourt and Jason Bentley have been airing the track on their shows throughout the last weeks. This has resulted in Carmen's record reaching position no. 2 on the station's weekly charts.
Carmen Rizzo's "The lost art of the idle moment" out 27. September - 20/08/05 Carmen Rizzos solo record "The lost art of the idle moment" will come out in America on September 27th on The Lab records distributed through Universal. In the UK the album will be released through One Little Indian. Kate Havnevik co-wrote two songs on the album with Carmen which also features collaborations from Jem, Esthero, Alpha, Grant Lee Phillips, LadyBug Mecca (from Digable Planets), Thomas Heinreich & Dierdre Dubios as well as remixes from UK producer/remixer Andy Gray & Charlie Cooper of Telefone Tel Aviv. Only This Moment straight in at number 33 on the UK single's charts - 06/07/05 Röyksopp's lead single "Only This Moment" co-written by and featuring Kate Havnevikfrom their newly released album "This Understanding" has now reached the UK singles charts at number 33. The album itself which was just relaesed last week is now the number one selling album in Norway.
Kate to write a film score - 27/05/05 Kate has been signed up to write the film score the upcoming film 'Glow' written and directed by Yugoslavian director, Dusan Tolmac. The film is in pre-production now, but is due to start filming in the autumn in London. The full cast list for the film has yet to be confirmed but there are some rumors of big names being attached to the project. This will be director Dusan's first feature film film, but his previous works include shorts, commercials and video/shorts for swedish singer Stina Nordenstam as well as being a productive scriptwriter and script doctor on various films.
Kate featuring on Röyksopp´s single "Only This Moment" out 13. June 08/05/05 Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp will on July 12 release its highly anticipated sophomore album, This Understanding. The 11-track set will be led by the single Only This Moment which will be commercially released June 13 internationally. The single is co-written by Kate Havnevik and features her vocals and well as that of Röyksopp themselves. Only This Moment has already been aired on radio stations around the world and has received a cheering welcome from listeners and DJs alike. This Understanding is the follow up to their hugely successful debut album Melody AM, released in 2002. Melody Am which included hugely popular tracks such as Poor Leno and Eple entered no. 5 on Billboards Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. The new album which features another collaboration with Kate Havnevik, Circuit Breaker, is set to be more forceful than the predecessor Melody AM
Kate teams up with cream of Icelandic music scene for Melankton - 05/05/05 Kate has teamed up with Gunnar Tynes of the Icelandic electronica band Múm, María Huld Markan of the Icelandic string quartet Amina will be doing string arrangements for two tracks on the album, and Gunnar will be doing some programming on two tracks. They are among many fantastic collaborators Kate has enlisted to help her with Melankton. Other names are Guy Sigsworth, Valgeir Sigurdsson and Carmen Rizzo.
Kate licenses a song to The West Wing - 01/05/05 One of Kate's tracks, "Strangelove" has been licenced for use in the American TV series "The West Wing" starring Rob Lowe and Martin Sheen. The track is to be used in an episode in the new series coming out in June.
Embla studio recordings 22/04/05 Kate has just finished a 10 day session in the studio with bassist Jon Thorne, harpist Rhodri Davies and vibraphone player Orphy Robinson. The gang went into the studio to record some of Kates older compositions in this unusual set up. Kate wanted to do something with some of her older material and came up with this unusual way of recording an acoustic album. The process was very much a matter of improvisation try-outs.
