HEY HAPPY NEW YEAR !
I am in Norway working on my second solo album!! its a lot of snow and pretty cold , but I have a big coat and a nice fireplace! :-)
I am also joing the Hotel Cafe Tour for a week in March, so check out the posted dates, tickets are on sale......
and the video blogs are going strong , check them out and leave a comment ... :-)

How terrible am I to write my own website diary !!!!????
Gosh! it s been a while....
I guess myspace is getting all my attention, it seems like thats where most people go anyways.
Well, I have now started my own video diary on youtube and that will be updated every week. I am filming it myself with my cell phone video camera and editing it myself, it's a little look into my world while i am working on my new album.
I am spending my days in my home studio these days just writing and writing new songs with new sounds.

hiya
After spending the summer all over the place..... and playing some festivals, which was great fun, and also trying to take a couple of weeks off, I am now back to recording new material for my next album.
I will be working on it for the rest of this year while also doing the odd gig here and there . next one coming up is 17. september in London at the Big Chill House.
Its really exiting now to make my new songs come alive and I hope to share some with you when ready .

In New York 04.April 2007
Hiya !
So i came to New York in the beginning of Feb. and I have been playing shows and travelling all over.
I spent the first couple of weeks finding musicians for my band and I met so many talented people.
My first NY show was at a cozy place called Mo'Pitkins.
It was sold out and it was a wondeful intimate atmosphere there.
Then I went to Austin Texas to take part in the big festival called SXSW. I did 3 shows and some interwievs.It was quite mad in Austin during this festival , music and people everywhere. It was great !
Back in New York I did a show at Joe's Pub (sold out again:-)! ) A wonderful venue and I hope to play there soon again.
Then I headed out to Los Angeles and I did my release concert at the Hotel Cafe. It was so much fun and full of people and great sound , then we had a good party at Kung Pao Kitty afterwards.
The rest of the trip was mostly PR stuff, but fun stuff like acoustic appearences etc.. And then I did a show at my agent's house . His livingroom is so colourful and everyone sat around me almost like by a camp fire. It was something very different and special.
Now I am back in New York again and I am just preparing for my tour supporting AIR. I am so excited about it . It will be my first tour across the USA!

its been a while since i have written here. myspace seems to take all my time and attention!
But a little update on what I've been up to.......
well New Day has featured in Grey's Anatomy which was amazing.
I did a really fun gig at the REGAL ROOM in London inmid dec. completely acoustic with Harpischord, Viola and Cello! It was so much fun and even though the electronic sounds in my music are very important they songs came to life in a different way. I recorded it and will try to see if I can use the recordings.
I went to Norway and Iceland over christmas and I actually recorded a new track called Timeless, I got Amiina ( Sigur Ros's stringquartet) to play on the track and I was so pleased with their playing! I think you can check them out at myspace.com/amiina
More recently I went to Cannes to play a gig at Midem ( industry festival thing..... far tooo many business people) but I played a really fun party in a beautiful room called Le Grand Salon in Hotel Carlton. It went really well and I fun !
Now I am mainly just preparing to go to NY. Staying there for 4 months to release the album in the US, so thats all very exciting!!!

I just got back to London from NY 2 days ago!
I had a blast doing the Hotel Cafe tour in the states! I played NY and Boston twice and Philadelphia and Baltimore. The band I played with was like a houseband for the tour and they were great musicians. It's not always so obvious how to recreate the very orchestral songs on the album. But i had stripped down some backingtracks , then I had a guy that played trumpet,keybboards and accordion (every singer-songwriters dream to have a musician like that) then I had some very talanted bassplayers on upwright and electric, and a drummer.!
I was quite overwhelmed that I had so many fans at each venue. Some brought me a birthday cake, cookies, seaschells , flowers and a book!!! This was a whole new experience for me !!! and I liked it. :-)
I have a lot to thank Grey's Anatomy for I guess....... :-)
Staying on the tour bus for a week with 10 guys was actually great ! they were all so nice and fun to be around.
I was very jetlagged most of the week but there was quite a bit of partying as well.
well I'm off to bed now, got a cold and i have a gig tomorrow!!!

The ULU gig yesterday went well. It was a pretty good night. God acts and lots of people.
Going to New York tomorrow. I am very excited . My first gig on the Hotel Cafe Tour is on friday 27th ..my birthday ! So that will be pretty special.
I am also excited about the gigs in New York especially the one on halloween!!!! scary scary ...

Ups...... I have been pretty lazy with my diary lately ..... seems like myspace is taking all my attention. Shame on me .
Anyways, it's only a week till I fly out to NY to do my Hotel Cafe Tour. It will be very exciting and I am looking forward to it .
There is one more UK gig at the ULU the 23rd. oct, though! Just rehearsing these days.
I had another song in Grey's Anatomy last week that aired in the US.I have had quite a few emails about So Lo as a result of that. I am planning to put it out on itunes as a one off track. Just tweaking it a bit.
It's quite rainy and moist here in London, getting cold.

Hi
Wow, I woke up to this amazing weather in London today. Sunny and very windy. I love hearing the wind in the trees, reminds me of being at home in Norway.
Spent some time in the garden, so peaceful. The summer is over but I love this time inbetween seasons.
I was so lucky yesterday, I got a free ticket from a friend to go and see Beck at the Sheperds Bush Empire. I had never seen him play before but I have quite a few of his albums. The show started with his Beck-puppet-show moving to and miming to his song 'Looser'. He had a small dark red puppet theatre and 4 people controlling the puppets on stage, and all the puppets were miniature versions of the band. same clothing, instruments, hairdo's etc. He had another 2 people filming the puppets live and projecting the images onto the big backdrop screen live. It looked fantastic. Then the real band came on and Beck sang the rest of the song.
Throughtout the concert the puppets did exactly what the band did. Towards the end Beck did a couple of tracks on his own with an acoustic guitar, then the band sat down around a table on stage ( made up to look like they were in a restaurant). The band was drinking and eating while Beck was the so called restaurant troubadour. Then the band joined in on the last song playing on the table with their cutlery, playing on the glasses and anything else that was on the table and making the best percussive moment. It was great ! Really creative and different.
It was also pretty cool when Beck came on stage for his encore in a grizzly bear costume! :-)The when the gig was over there was a 5 min video on the screen showing the Puppet-band arriving and spending their day in London and making their way to the venue. It was dubbed by the bands voices and was really funny !!!!
So I would recommend anyone to see Beck live.
I am loading up to doing more gigs in London. I will be doing a slightly different set than before, I just a slightly simpler set-up so i can be more flexible with were I play, so I am trying to find out the best way to do it.
I have got some plans to come to the USA to play soon , but I can't confirm anything yet , but I will keep you posted.
Apart from that I am just enjoying my day inbetween seasons!

Hi
So my August gigs are now done!!! The Bush Hall gig on thursday went really well. Had a decent crowd down and some great support acts too.
Guy played on his electric harpsichord and his old clavicord , and we did one song together in the end of his set . just him on Celesta and me singing . I really enjoyed it ,we did our song Soon.
William did a fantastic 20min set . he came all the way from Paris to do this gig. You should all check him out .
I had a full band containing of stringquartet, bass (electric and upright),Trombone , Trumpet , electronic wizard Sean McGhee and myuself singing and playing piano on two tracks. The piano in the Bush Hall is fantastic , it's a real treat to play on it .
So as you can imagine we were a lot of people on stage!
we had a little trouble getting started when we first went on stage because the air conditioning was blowing the music scores off the string-and -bass players stands......... so that was a bit stressful and confusing . but then someone turned it off and we got going.

encore was eighties cover The Chauffeur by Duran Duran .
Ha ha ha ha I made a fun arrangement for it !and it was a good laugh!
(Travel In Time - will be on UK release, and is also featured on Carmen Rizzo's album 'The lost art of the idle moment' )
So now thats all done . ! :-)
Have got some plans for more gigs in sept and oct . but nothing confirmed yet !
London is rainy today and I am staying in . going to play some piano and try out my new loop pedal ..... it scares me a bit but I need to get the hang of it. !±

Been busy preparing for the UK gigs .
Have to write out all the scores for the strings and organise for rehearsels etc......
Also preparing for the UK release 4.sept . ... very exciting .

Sigur Ros support gig and video shoot
Just got back from Norway 3.july .
The Sigur Ros support gig went really well. It was so much fun!! I had 5 stringplayers, bass, electronics and I even got to borrow Sigur Ros' brass quartet for 2 songs.
The venue was packed and I got a very warm welcome. So thanks to everyone who was there!!!!
After the show we hung out for a bit and then Sigur Ros had to get on their tour bus and drive to Stockholm.
Next day started the planning of shooting a video for UNLIKE ME. Getting equipment , something to wear, finding location etc....... A lot of things to do for a no budget video shoot .
We ended up shooting it in the woods in Oslo. Just by where I grew up.
It was a long shoot and we ended up staying the whole night ( oh it was really cold at night ). In Norway we only have a few hours of darkness at night.
We'll have to wait and see what comes out of this shoot . hopefully a really nice video........
Thunder and lightning in London today!!!

15.May 2006 LA. , Coachella, Costume Party, Photo-shoot
Just came back from LA a few days ago , Was really just a business trip , meetings etc, . but turned out to be a really fun trip . Sigur Ros invited me to come to Coacella the saturday when they were playing, so of course I went !!! It was soooo great , the best festival ever. !!! The sun was shining, they sky was blue, green palm trees and plenty of refreshments!!! I had VIP tickets so I went to the VIP tent to relax and realised it wasn't very VIP at all !!!! as anyone could pay to buy tickets to go there , Ha Ha Ha ....I felt so special for a moment ...:-)...!!! never mind!
I saw Imogen Heap play she was fantastic!!! as always!!. she is just sooo charming and carismatic and her voice is the best ! I love her new song Speeding Cars.
Then I saw Sigur Ros of course! which also was great , but their show works better when it is dark because of the beautiful visuals and lights!!! I also saw Franz Ferdinand , very tight band I must say! And at last I saw Depeche Mode who were great but I must admit I was so tired and kind of just hanging around by that time, watching from a distance . I heard later that I should have seen Daft Punk , It was apparantly the best show ever..but never mind,,,,,!
Later in LA I went out to dinner with Immi, and Zoe. They are so great . Tall talanted beautiful women!!! we had a great time and chatted away! I think they are so lucky to have found eahother, I like how they collaborate in music.
While in LA I also hooked up with my norwegian friend Tania Nyberg in Venice. She is a great photographer and we spent the weekend with her and her boyfriend David partying and doing a photo shoot!
I am back in the uk and still have bit of a jet lag. !!!

It's finally spring in London!!! Yeah ! I was just cleaning up in the garden yesterday and the sun was shining ! :-)
I went to a pretty cool gig this week. my friends 'Ost & Kjex' (means 'cheese and biscuit' in norwegian ) were playing at the t-bar in London. They play electronica /techno and are currently doing a remix of my song 'Unlike Me'!!! they really know their beats and get people on the dance floor.(check them out myspace.com/ostkjex) One half on this duo did all the programming for my song New Day ......
I am also planning my gigs these days. How to do it and what set-up to have . A bit hard when you have recorded all the songs with an orchestra....... . I want to play everywhere, but where shall I start !!! Well , my first confirmed gig will be in Iceland 1. july. It's this great music festival called Reykjavik Rocks. I will be playing same night and stage as David Gray !!! A great honour and pleasure indeed. There will be lots of other cool bands playing the festival too.
well, apart from all this I have been writing a bit and cycling around in London...........
